SoCalGas Advanced Metering Project – March 2016

The Southern California Gas Company provides natural gas service to the Santa Rosa Valley. In 2010 they announced, and obtained funding approval for, a project to convert all of the gas meters in their service area to automated reading. Announcement messages discussing the future meter conversion plans were distributed to Santa Rosa Valley Announcements List in early 2011. The time has now come for completion of the project and implementation of the new metering.

In the last two years SoCalGas has been installing custom meter face plates whenever they installed new meters or performed a major re-installation. In late 2015, two Data Collector construction signs were posted for 30 days on Santa Rosa Road (the locations are described below).

In February 2016 SoCalGas provided a presentation at the Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) meeting providing details on the project which is expected to be completed this year. They are now moving forward with final determination of Data Collector locations and installation of the battery operated transmitters located in the custom meter face plates. It is not expected that service will be affected as the meters are modified kamagra pour femme. The exception may be where very old meters can not be modified and must be replaced. SoCalGas will make personal contact with everyone where service will be impacted.

The two Data Collector locations planned for the Santa Rosa Valley are on the north side of Santa Rosa Road and will consist of a 29′ wooden pole with solar panels, an equipment box, and two vertical antennas on a cross arm. The eastern location is approximately 1000′ east of E Las Posas Road. The western location is approximately 2000′ east of Gerry Road.

A copy of the current SoCalGas Advanced Metering presentation prepared for the constituents of Supervisor Linda Parks is available in PDF format HERE. This version has been edited to only present the locations in the Santa Rosa Valley.
